A viable alternative to X-rays, MRI's and CT's, Thermography is primarily a diagnostic tool useful for measuring and tracking pathology in the body.  As thermography measures with exquisite sensitivity the heat produced in various parts of the body, it is not exposing the body to any potentially harmful radiation.  It is a far more comfortable alternative to mammography.  Its advantages and limitations compared to conventional imaging studies should be discussed with a trained thermographer.
